SUNBRIDGE STEWARDSHIP DISTRICT

The Sunbridge Stewardship District is an independent special-purpose governmental unit that covers the Osceola County portion of the property, approximately 19,560 acres. The Stewardship District flexibly and responsibly finances and manages the acquisition and construction, maintains and operates public infrastructure systems, facilities, and services within the boundaries of the district.

A Stewardship District is very similar to a Community Development District (CDD) and is utilized when there is a considerably long period of time in which development will take place and where there are additional conservation concerns. Just like a CDD, a Stewardship District is an independent local governmental authority and may impose fees on a property meant to pay for construction, operation, and maintenance of facilities and services in the developing area.
